The Cybersecurity Engineer will provide leadership, team coordination, and subject matter expertise in the areas of Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity (CS).  The Cybersecurity Engineer determines technical IA requirements and ensure proper security implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

The Cybersecurity Engineer provides security oversight for an US Army system.  This includes the creation, modification, and submission of the RMF accreditation package in Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide support for the system across the entire Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process. This support will consist of documenting the system to maintain an acceptable security posture and to achieve an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Develops RMF documentation, standard operating procedures, policies and security instructions for the system.
  • Interface with internal/external customers to identify requirements and provide problem resolution.
  • Evaluate assessment documentation/results and provide analysis recommendations.
  • Ensure that system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the system life cycle.
  • Independently determine and develop approaches to information assurance solutions.


  • BS/MS degree (Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or Related Science degree)
  • Active SECRET or TOP SECRET Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Must be familiar with current security policy/manuals.
  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • High degree of attention to detail


  • Experience with the configuration and hardening of Linux.
  • Experience using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to identify vulnerabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and their implementation.
  • Certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M.
